OSCAR A LEADING PARALYMPIC CONTENDER
Wednesday, 29 August 2012 11:16
The Games kick off in earnest on the evening of Wednesday 29 August, but Oscar takes to the track on Saturday evening, with the First Round of the Men's 400m in the T44 class.
Despite record-breaking feats in the 2008 Paralympics, the past four years have seen others break records and win world championships. In the showpiece 100m event, he faces World Record holder Jonnie Peackock and American Jerome Singleton, who has already clocked a time of 11.1sec this season.
Pistorius will further compete in the Men's T44 200m and 4x100m relay (in the T42/T46 class). With genuine medal contenders across the board and Oscar in the shape of his life, the 2012 London Paralympics promise to be the most riveting Games yet.
